Dr. Aloy Chife is a technology entrepreneur and investor with over 30 years of global experience. He is the Managing Partner and CEO of Saana Capital, a Princeton-based venture capital firm with investments across the U.S., Europe, and Africa. The firm focuses on consumer aggregation, financial intermediation, and digital financial services to strengthen Africa’s digital infrastructure and enable cross-border trade. Its latest venture, Brij, operates in Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana, with expansion across East and West Africa.
Dr. Chife began his career in the energy sector and later served as Director of Information Systems and Technology at Enron and as a Director at Apple. In 2002, he founded Socketworks Ltd and SW Global, backed by the IFC, to build digital platforms for government agencies across Africa and Asia. He has advised the Federal Government of Nigeria and the U.S. State Department's Global Entrepreneurship Program, and his work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, and The Economist.
Dr. Chife holds a Ph.D. in Political Economy from the London School of Economics and is the author of The Political Economy of Post-Cold War Africa (1997).
