Advocacy and Campaigns
From strategy and research to media messaging, polling, coalition-building, and mobilizing constituents, we drive campaigns from start to finish.
Successful advocacy is about connecting people to an issue on an emotional level, and building a sense of belonging to a winning effort. KRL's campaigns draw people in, spark their drive to get involved, and turn causes into movements.

Challenge
In 2014, West Africa faced a devastating Ebola epidemic that claimed over 10,000 lives and shattered fragile healthcare systems in Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. The outbreak not only threatened public health but also crippled the region’s economies, with an estimated $6 billion in lost GDP. International awareness and coordinated relief efforts were urgently needed to contain the crisis and support recovery.
Approach
KRL took a leadership role in mobilizing the private sector response through the Ebola Private Sector Mobilization Group (EPSMG). Starting as a small coalition of regional companies, EPSMG rapidly expanded to nearly 100 organizations, coordinating relief activities, advocating to the UN and global institutions, and supporting economic recovery initiatives. Serving as the U.S. secretariat for EPSMG and representing the Liberian government, KRL successfully raised the alarm in Washington, securing bipartisan support for emergency funding and the deployment of key U.S. agencies.
Impact
KRL’s efforts helped catalyze a swift and robust international response, enabling the mobilization of the CDC, USAID, the State Department, and the Pentagon. Beyond immediate crisis management, KRL played a vital role in shaping long-term recovery strategies, helping to rebuild health systems and stabilize economies in the hardest-hit countries. The coordinated approach amplified private sector influence and ensured sustained global engagement throughout the epidemic and beyond.
